Commissioning of a Research Project
The Industrial Design Laboratory of the Department of Visual and Applied Arts of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki was commissioned to study and design the external shell of a semi-professional single-head embroidery machine.
Participation in the Research Team
Participated in the research team as a 2D designer (digital sketches/illustrations), 3D modeler (2D to 3D product design), prototype and model maker (including 3D printing), product renderer and visualizer, and 3D animator (product video).

Design Process
To complete the design of the external shell of the embroidery machine, a two-month study of the 3D digital mechanical design was carried out. During this stage, reverse engineering tests of digital shell preform application were performed, section by section, at different points of the mechanical model.
In the next stage of the study, functional and ergonomic innovations were sought through design proposals. This process culminated in the preparation of an illustrated report containing all relevant information and proposals.
The design phase concluded with the submission of a final 3D digital shell proposal based on the morphology and aesthetics analysis of the Husqvarna Viking design identity.
Total Duration of Research Work: August 2012 - February 2013
