Dimitris Agathopoulos

Visual Artist | New Media Researcher

Dimitris Agathopoulos is a visual artist and researcher specializing in New Media. He holds a degree in Painting from the Department of Visual and Applied Arts at the School of Fine Arts, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, and a postgraduate degree in Digital Arts from the Athens School of Fine Arts. Additionally, he earned a degree in Business Administration from the Metropolitan College of Athens.

Dimitris is a dedicated educator, currently teaching as a contractual academic fellow at the Department of Interior Architecture, School of Applied Arts and Culture, University of West Attica. He also lectures in the postgraduate program Digital Arts at the Athens School of Fine Arts.

His artistic practice explores the dynamic intersections of art, technology, and culture. His work spans 3D sculpting and modeling, expanded animation, AI-driven art, audiovisual storytelling, Augmented and Virtual Reality (XR) technologies, VR cinema, Game Art, 3D scanning, photogrammetry, projection mapping, digital scenography, and painting.

Dimitris's research aligns with his artistic endeavors, focusing on technology's cultural and creative implications. He actively contributes to research projects, interdisciplinary collaborations, and workshops.

His works have been showcased in prominent exhibitions and festivals, including:
