Short explanatory text for the preparation of the exhibit:
After completing the work on the original preform (for the formula fairing) used to construct the 1:1 scale shell of the racing vehicle in the A.R.T. formula [A.U.T.H], the mold was disassembled. The individual parts were cleaned and reassembled onto the longitudinal reference section (creating a "fishbone" frame) using MDF of the same thickness (16mm) for the cross-sections and filling the gaps with 5cm thick expanded polystyrene (Dow) panels. The surface was shaped using a thermocutter, a hand-held electric sander, and sandpaper, followed by a coating of plaster and gypsum. The work was completed with the final shaping and finishing of the plaster surface. Half of the structure was longitudinally covered with materials to visually expose the internal structure of the "unfinished" precast.
To showcase the construction methodology, the preform from which the shell of the A.R.T. Formula emerged was intentionally displayed in an unfinished state. This enabled visitors to observe the process of crafting the shell, from the initial molding shaping to the final plaster application. This provided a unique opportunity to learn about the engineering and design of the racing car.
